Spirit of Belle Vue Racers Award

This award is given by the BVR Committee to recognise outstanding contributions by a member to uphold the values and spirit of the club

Farouk is an almost constant presence at track and a frequent BVR racer. He is always cheerful whatever the conditions and a real motivator for clubmates.

He is also a champion volunteer, much of that is in a non club capacity, but it rubs off on us. He has helped at South Manchester Parkrun for years and steps forward to help at other events like Manchester Marathon and Half Marathon. As a BVR he also has been volunteer marshal in the XC leagues.

Runner's Runner Award

This special award is voted for by club members

Ben’s story is one of remarkable resilience and inspiration. Despite facing serious health challenges including bowel cancer and open heart surgery, he has shown unwavering determination and positivity.

His journey from recovery to achieving personal bests, participating in cross country and consistently improving his fitness is admired by many.

Ben is known for his cheerful demeanor, dedication to training and his supportive presence— even when he couldn’t run, he volunteered and encouraged others.

He truly embodies the spirit of BVR and the running community, inspiring others through his perseverance, kindness and love for the sport.
